Yes, yes, yes to all you're saying - I LOVE this episode.
I don't have to say my favorite character is Eliot, do I? In case you didn't know, he is. So yes, I loved this episode because finally, we have an episode this season that's heavy on Eliot. Because in my opinion (yes, I might be wrong, but it's my personal impression) we had little of him this season. And I think Christian Kane is a very talented actor, I love him more in these type of scenes (like the scene with the CIA agent or in the park in the BBJ or the one on the mountain) than the fighting scenes (yes, they're great as well). So yeah for getting this.
I think as for Nate and Sophie being less prominent in this episode - as mentioned before Eliot deserved some more time, so someone else had to have less - and I'm sure they'll get more in the next episode.
Two more observations: 1) As for Nate and Eliot being in sync again - I love this, but I feel we never got a 'clear the air' sort of thing for the tension earlier in the season. I really need to push myself to get up at the con next week and ask if they cut scenes out that would have giving us some kind of closure....
2) The thing you mention with the sacrifice Eliot might make - how about this in combination with one of the couples messing up ;)? I am not a supporter of those two couples (sorry, people) and for me they get to much screen time (I hope they get them established in S4 and we can back to focus on the important stuff in S5) - and now Hardison takes out his ear thingy because he's having couple stress with Parker? The couples already mess with the job...good opening for Eliot having to make some sort of sacrifice...hey, a girl can dream, right?
All the quotes you mentioned? Love them to pieces...
Give me more Eliot with Sophie, I love them doing stuff together.
