theron09: (Hunter icon - Lydia)

Some of my Teen Wolf favourites

Favourite Character - Isaac Lahey:

Picking a favourite Teen Wolf character is actually something I find very hard to do - there are so many awesome characters (Lydia, Stiles, Scott, Chris Argent, Derek, Erica, Melissa, Sheriff Stilinski... I could go on). There's just something about Isaac, though - he's a survivor, he can be funny, he can be vulnerable, he struggles sometimes but still remains loyal. Of course, the fact he's extremely handsome also helps!

- It was my sister's sixteenth birthday yesterday - it's really kind of scary to think that she's sixteen! Anyway, we had a nice day - played some trivial pursuit, watched some DVDs and just had general family time, really. Going out for a walk after lunch with one of her friends and then they're coming back to watch movies and stuff so I'm going to go down to [livejournal.com profile] ishilde's for a bit to give them some space.

- Writing-wise, I signed up for an Adam Milligan prompt fest, already claimed a prompt that I'm really excited over so I'm looking forward to starting work on that. My [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang is going well - reached the 10k minimum and I think I should get it mostly done by the rough draft due date. Am also signed up for an Avengers crossover bang - need to start working on that outline properly now that I've worked out that I can definitely do my idea.

- I think I'm going to try and have a switch around of my icons soon, to try and get more of my fandoms included because at the moment I have mostly Supernatural ones.

- The second mission is starting in two days over at [livejournal.com profile] avengers_land - looking forward to getting the first challenge up and getting things under-way.

-Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] telaryn - it's great to have you here :)

- I'm going to have to miss the weekly meet-up with my friends from school today because I've got so much work to do :( I'm hoping I can really blast through it tonight and tomorrow morning so fingers crossed!

- I have lots of wonderful new icons now! Went through and uploaded some of the ones that have been sitting in folders and also got some as gifts at [livejournal.com profile] leverageland which was awesome.

-Downton Abbey is getting a third series! It's the last episode of S2 on Sunday so the timing of the announcement was perfect; means I don't have to be too sad/wonder whether we're getting more. There's a Christmas special as well :)

- Check out this post here if you haven't already :)
theron09: (team grifter icon)
This is my first attempt at making icons. #9 is the one that won third place. I'm not entirely happy with all of these but I've posted them anyway.

-Feel free to snag as long as you credit me.

Hey guys :) I'm about ready to talk about something other than the Supernatural season six finale now, although there's still lot's of thoughts going around in my head.

So, after that poll yesterday I've decided that I'm definitely going to take part in the Leverage challenge and I'm pretty certain that it's going to be a Nate/Eliot fic. I even have the start of a plot worked out and I think it should be interesting. I just hope that I manage to make it Leverage-ish enough. I should definitely have the time to write it once my exams are over with and I don't think getting to the 15,000 minimum should be too much of a problem.

Who is going to take part? A few of you mentioned that you were yesterday but I know there are a few more Leverage fans on here :)

Today I've been doing a little bit of writing. I'm sort of finding it hard to get into the right headspace to write after the finale but I'd told myself that I'd write today and go back to revising tomorrow so that's what I'm trying to do. I've been working on a bit of J2 schmoop for a prompt by [livejournal.com profile] akintay and I'm going to try and work on some more of your prompts, too.

Oooh, I also updated my masterpost. There are 50 fics on there so I don't know whether any of you want to head over and check some out but I thought I'd point you over there in case you do :) It's strange because I don't feel like I've written all that much but I have. There's quite a range there, too: Sam/Dean, gen, J2, Jeff/Jensen, Dean/Cas, Alec/Eliot and things from other fandoms.

Time for me to go and see if I can finish off something else to add to it now :)

*hugs*

P.S. Does anyone feel like making an Eliot icon with the words 'Eliot said hi' on it? I'd love you forever and ever and am willing to offer fic in return :D
theron09: (J2)

Hey guys :) I can't believe it's February already! Last month was busy and I tried new things and I think I worked hard. Hopefully, this month is going to be even better for me and for all of you.

I spent today working on coursework and I managed to write a plan for my history essay but that's about it which wasn't a great start BUT I'm staying positive - tomorrow is another day where I have lots of frees and I'm going to start writing at least something for each piece of coursework that I have to do. I kind of don't know where to start with the history one, though. I guess I'll just feel it out as I go. Think I need some more motivation, though, like chocolate or something ;)

But, that won't help with my next goal. The whole healthy eating thing kind of went out of the window with my exams but I'm starting it up again, drinking plenty of water etc.

Season Two of Leverage arrived yesterday morning! I'm looking forward to rewatching the episodes. I still can't totally decide on a favourite character, although I think it would be Eliot if I HAD to choose. I think that's part of what I like so much about the show - all of the characters are interesting and there isn't one that I don't like or whatever.

I've been sorting through my icons and I want to find some more. I'm only have one JDM icon so I want to find more of him. And I don't actually have that many of Jared and Jensen or Sam and Dean together even though I have a lot of them separately. I'd like some more Leverage icons as well. So, it's my mission to track some down over the next few days! Anyone got any useful links on that front?

My big bang fic has reached 4k and it's also reached the stage where I'm writing scenes in random orders so I'm going to have to try and stay organised on that front. I'm pleased with what I have so far, though, which is good.

I want to say thank you to [livejournal.com profile] heartsonwings  and [livejournal.com profile] xbreakyourheart for the v-gifts :) And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to thank you for those, apparently, I'm forgetful!

Two more things, can anyone who hasn't yet checked out the friends cut post from a few days back. And, letter meme:

Letter Meme )

theron09: (had lunch with death)

Hey guys :) How are you all doing?

- My revision is going well but I feel like I need another week instead of a day for my history! Apparently, though, my Mum say my history teacher last night and he told her that I didn't really need to resit SO if I don't do better than last time (which was a B) it's not going to be the end of the world. He reckons that I can easily make up the marks on my coursework. I'm kind of wishing I hadn't decided to resit it now but then if I do do better then that'll  be good so *shrugs* I'll see what happens.

The exam is tomorrow afternoon so I get the morning off school to prepare/revise which means I should also be able to catch up on some sleep. The thing is, I really don't want to be trying to cram everything in tomorrow morning so I'll probably just do a quick read over my notes and then try to relax. Then I've just got exams on the next two Mondays and I'm done for a while.

-The coursework is going okay at the moment, too. I have more of an idea of what else I need to include in my analysis and I think I've found a pretty good book that I should be able to quote from (although I still need to try and track it down!) The thing is, I want to have a first draft done by the end of the month but I'm going to be starting coursework for history this Friday and then we'll be starting our English Lit at the end of the month and it's kind of a lot of coursework! The history coursework is pretty intense because they're two different essays and they're both pretty research-heavy. It should also be really, really interesting, though :)

-We're finally getting all of these leaks etc sorted out - we have people here now putting scaffolding up so hopefully our living room won't be furnished with buckets for much longer! Of course, the Tesco delivery arrived right when they were in the middle of putting it up - bad timing!

- Watched 'The Blind Side' last night and I really, really enjoyed it. Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw were both really good in it, as well. I missed the first half hour though so I think I'll try watching it all the way through some time.

-Mum and I finished Leverage Season 1 a few nights ago. It was really nice for me to watch them all in order again because sometimes I tend to just watch random episodes. My Mum really, really enjoyed it and we're definitely going to get Season 2 to watch together :) It's so nice to be able to do that.

-My little sister is choosing all of her GCSE subjects at the moment which is scary as hell. I don't know how she's grown up so quickly! She's interested in some pretty cool subjects - history, french, art (I did all of those) and pyscholgy. I just can't believe she's choosing her options already!

-The icon isn't relevant but it is so totally awesome :) Made by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] hellybongo

-I'm going to go and revise some more now!
theron09: (reading)
-Well, my Grandad still isn't home, even though we were told it would be Monday :/

-I've been playing around with my userpics today; I always hate deleting the ones that I'm using but I also want to use different ones.

-I'm going to start up that whole reading a lot thing again, think I'll kind of keep a record on lj where I talk about the books I've read. It might give me more incentive to read an actual book instead of fanfic.

-I've had a really cool idea for a J2AU fic but I'm trying to be restrained and wait until the challenges are done before I start writing it. I'll probably give in and start soon anyway, though!

-I'm also going to try and work harder which means that I need to not come on lj and go on twitter quite as often. Same with AIM which is a shame because I love talking to you guys. I will still be around, just not as much.
theron09: (domesticated never tamed)

So, I spoke too soon. My Grandad isn't coming home today; not sure why yet - my mum's at the hospital now - but we think it's something to do with his blood b/c of the tables that he's on. He'll definitely be home soon, though, so I'm trying not to be too disappointed.

How are you guys today? There's a few of you that I haven't heard from in ages and a few more that haven't posted in what seems like forever. I really hope you're all okay and I'd love to hear from you. Not sure if you're even reading this, really :/ I'm going to PM a few of you later to catch up.

I keep getting too distracted by writing fic. The thing is, I love writing, I need to write to meet the challenge deadlines but I keep doing it before doing my work for school. So, if any of you see me on AIM/Twitter and I'm talking about writing, please check that I've done my homework first XD

My English Literature remark came back today. It hasn't changed. I'm not really upset because I had a good mark anyway. I'd have been more upset if I had really been counting on it but in the end, a B is good and I might manage to get the A on my resit. I'm just glad that I wasn't on a lower grade to start with - someone in my History class had a U (which is the lowest you can get), had it remarked and it went down by 8 marks!

I'm using the icon that I'm using for no other reason than that I love it. It's by the amazing [livejournal.com profile] morgentau  . It actually sums up how I feel about S6 Dean so far.

I've just finished reading 'My Family and Other Animals' by Gerald Durrell (for about the 12th time.) It really is one of my favourite ever books - it's so funny and clever and heartwarming, especially to someone who loves Greece. I'm recommending it to all of you right now XD Have any of you read it?

We're reading 'The Remains of the Day' in lit at the moment; I've already read it and I quite like it.

I'm in a reading kind of mood at the moment. Any recommendations? Preferably around the theme of 'Love' because our course is 'Love Through the Ages' and I've got to find a third text to write about alongside TROTD and 'Measure for Measure.'

Wow, this is kind of a rambly post.

theron09: (see no evil)

A bit of a mixed post today, can't seem to stop rambling.

- I've had a busy few days. On Saturday, we went to Lindesfarne/Holy Island and spent the afternoon there. It's so pretty and Kizzie enjoyed the walk. Then, on Sunday I posted a fic to a community for the first time (I was really scared!) and posted a Dean/Cas fic (I'm not sure where else to post that one).

-I really want to talk about yesterday, though. I went out for my little sister's birthday. Our group was made up of me, my mum, my sister, my sister's best friend and K. It was a really, really awesome day. We went bowling first, then out for lunch, then back to my house and then for a walk at the coast in the evening. Considering K's 17 and my sister and her friend are 13/14 it went very well. We played cards and K was helping them etc which was lovely of him. BUT the best thing is the present that he gave her.

My sister is obsessed with Muse. Absolutely obsessed. So, he made her a scrapbook with old Muse interviews and articles etc. It looks amazing and it must have taken him ages to do. I like him even more now. (Which is why I'm f-locking this post.)

- I start back at school properly tomorrow but had to go in for an hour this morning for a 'conference'. It was disappointing - didn't even get given my timetable so I've got to go in early tomorrow to collect it. I'm not looking forward to the next few months, resits are in January so I'm going to have lots of revision on top of learning the new stuff.

-On the plus side, it's only a three day school week :)

-I'm in the middle of sorting out my delicious account; my tags were all messy so I've deleted everything and started again. On that note, anyone got any recs of something they've read recently?

-I have too many icons and not enough space. For now, I'm just going to sort them all out in folders until I can use them.

theron09: (morgue lurking)
I've spent the last half an hour sorting loads of my icons out. I have so many in folders that I can't use at the moment!!! I've been dropping hints for a while and I'm pretty sure that my friends are going to get me a paid account for Christmas which, you know, is awesome. Although it's still a long way off at the moment!

I love this new icon though. *points*

My English Language teacher decided to take our class down to the school cafe and buy coffee/tea/hot chocolate for us all :D We all had a very lovely chat about our summer plans and what we want to do with our futures.

Speaking of which, I'm doing an English Language investigation for my coursework all about how the language of the Brownies has changed. So, if any of you have any old handbooks or annuals or anything I'd really appreciate some scans or something. It's a long shot, I know :) We're going to this party tomorrow night and my Mum's getting an award for helping at Brownies for 5 years so I'm going to ask around there as well.

Finally, I've made a lot of new friends recently so I thought it might be nice to tell you all a bit about me. So, if you want to, comment here and ask me some questions (serious or silly or both) and I'll try and answer them as honestly as possible :D T his goes for old friends, too, of course! *huggles you all*
theron09: (Impala)

Hi and welcome to my newest friend [livejournal.com profile] fire_at_wi11 :)

So, I think it's safe to say that the friending meme was successful. Thanks again to the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] contrition for all your help with the html and formatting. You're awesome!!

The beach was quite fun last night, my Mum and I took Kizzie for a walk and then got some chips. We're having a quiet weekend although we're having a nice meal tonight. It was my Mum's birthday on Wednesday but she was ill so we're going to have a Chinese take-away tonight instead. I'm really looking forward to it :)

I saw my friend/crush (who will be known as K from now on) yesterday, it was really good to catch up with him. We also decided that his little brother looks like Justin Bieber - poor kid!

I think I might have a change around of some of my icons. I don't want to lose any of the current ones though :( I'm hoping that my RL friends get me a paid account for Christmas (we got a DA account for K so I don't see why they wouldn't/can't) so that I can get more icons.

I'm still really tired - I keep waking up really early because of my hay-fever.

Anyone got any plans for the weekend?

ETA: Forgot to f-lock this post in case he sees it. Doing that now.
theron09: (being human sucks)
Have I missed something? Because I now have 20 icons instead of 15.

I'm wondering if I've missed an lj message in my inbox informing me of this.

Hmmm.
