Episode Reaction: The Cross My Heart Job

I loved everything about this episode. It was just so lovely and team-y and there was banter and real emotions and smooth lifts (Eliot's lift with the magazine is possibly my favourite lift ever) and just about everything I could have asked for.
The opening scene in the airport with the whole team reflecting on the job they'd just done was wonderful - each of them complaining about their own thing but in the end they're complaining together, really. Loved the way the Eliot vs people with spearguns was shown with the bandage later in the episode (so all that taking people out he did, he did that injured.) Also, I'm very curious about this shipwreck and if someone were to write about it I wouldn't be opposed to reading it ;)
I really liked the way this episode was kind of a classic Leverage 'team' episode but with twists. So, like, the way Nate found the victim instead of meeting at McRory's and I loved the way they had none of their usual gear and were forced to improvise with smooth lifts from Eliot and Parker's lockpick made out of sunglasses and all of the other wonderful things that we saw in this episode. And, of course, there was the short timeframe again as well as the mirror with Nate (which definitely seems to be a theme this season.) It was all handled beautifully, as well.
Sophie making herself 'distracting' was so smooth and wonderful because of course she'd have a dress on under her trousers and of course she'd carry high heels in her bag and of course Eliot and Parker would find it totally natural to hide her from view while she tranformed herself. Smooth.
I loved Parker telling the girl about Tasers. In fact, I loved everything about Parker in this episode. I'm so glad she basically spent the whole time with Eliot because it made for some really, really fun viewing. Speaking of, that jacket throw when they're getting changed, Eliot's arms, them both being totally comfortable with stripping off in front of each other. I HAVE HEARTS IN MY EYES. This show, seriously, I just ship everyone with each other.
Parker making the injuries progress -'break Eliot's wrist' (and Eliot's reaction to that) and then 'set Nate on fire' - was such a nice touch. And grouchy!Eliot's 'settle down' is perhaps another one of my favourite things ever. Except that then Eliot was dressed as a Pilot and that was even better because, mmm, I want to see that again and again. (Icon, anyone?)
Hardison landing that plane using a flight simulator was fantastic (a nice throwback to season one) and I loved the 'celebrate with me.'
What I love about this show is how quickly and how smoothly it can go from fun and laughter to serious and sadness and real hard-hitting emotion. Nate talking about Sam with Sophie was just...I think that's the first time he's really spoken about what Sam might have been like now and it was such a reminder of why Nate is Nate and why this job, making sure this boy got the heart, was so important to him AND to the team because they all understand Nate's investment in it.
Similarly, Nate's conversations with the bad guy were really chilling, especially that last one once the job was over. Chilling and totally believeable and really, really worrying.
So yeah, I'm sure there's awesome moments that I loved that I've forgotten to mention but I think you get the picture. This episode was fabulous. Utterly fabulous.
