- It was my sister's sixteenth birthday yesterday - it's really kind of scary to think that she's sixteen! Anyway, we had a nice day - played some trivial pursuit, watched some DVDs and just had general family time, really. Going out for a walk after lunch with one of her friends and then they're coming back to watch movies and stuff so I'm going to go down to [livejournal.com profile] ishilde's for a bit to give them some space.

- Writing-wise, I signed up for an Adam Milligan prompt fest, already claimed a prompt that I'm really excited over so I'm looking forward to starting work on that. My [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang is going well - reached the 10k minimum and I think I should get it mostly done by the rough draft due date. Am also signed up for an Avengers crossover bang - need to start working on that outline properly now that I've worked out that I can definitely do my idea.

- I think I'm going to try and have a switch around of my icons soon, to try and get more of my fandoms included because at the moment I have mostly Supernatural ones.

- The second mission is starting in two days over at [livejournal.com profile] avengers_land - looking forward to getting the first challenge up and getting things under-way.

Having a productive day today working on things for [livejournal.com profile] avengers_land - I've procrastinated a lot and left the big challenge until close to the deadline so I'm trying to get caught up now by writing lots of drabbles and shorter fics because I don't think I have the time to write a longfic now. The first mission over there is nearly finished now, actually. I've really enjoyed it and I'm lucky to be part of such an awesome team (Sidekicks, you know who you are <3) and also to be able to talk to lovely people from the other teams, too.

Speaking of longfics, I post my 20k gen Supernatural Adam fic on the 3rd - it's probably a bit late to be asking this but is there anyone who is willing to do a beta for me? Someone's already looked at part of it but didn't manage to get through it all before they went away so I'd really appreciate it.

It's really lovely outside today. The past few days it's been really warm but cloudy and muggy with it. Today there's blue sky and sunshine which is such a nice change! So I went outside and wrote out there for a while which was really nice.

I'm almost finished catching up with both H50 and Psych now - trying to pace myself a bit though because it's a little while until both shows come back so it means I can still have new episodes for a bit longer. Doing the same with S4 of Leverage which just arrived on DVD, trying to rewatch a bit slower than I started on the first night to draw the fun out *g*

If there's one thing that's been reiterated to me over the past month or so, it's that I've made some amazing friends through being a part of lj. It makes me feel very lucky to have you guys as well as my friends who I get to physically see.

  • I got myself a bit more organised yesterday, need to keep that and the productivity I managed to find up over the next couple of weeks,
  • Adam bang draft is due on the 14th. I'm hoping I can finish the draft because, man, I love this fic - it's been so fun to write and take part in the challenge and I think there should be so much more Adam fic in the world than there is because he's wonderful, especially when he's with his brothers and they're a family.
  • [livejournal.com profile] avengers_land is continuing to be fun - looks like it's shaping up to be an awesome mission, all the teams seem really lovely and I love my Sidekicks! If you haven't signed up yet but want to or are thinking about it, I can reassure you that it's brilliant fun. And please put my name down as your referral XD
  • Lectures etc are winding down now, means the only thing I'm going in for today is a seminar on a book I'm not even using in my essay which is kind of irritating but I'm going to meet a friend for hot chocolate beforehand so it's less pointless than it would have been. Then I'll come back and work after lunch. Reading The Penelopiad for one of my modules right now - it's interesting so far and, luckily, quick to read I think so I should get it finished today.
  • It's not long until A8 now at all and I'm very excited and very nervous all at the same time - anyone got any convention tips for me? Dos and Don'ts? Things to make sure I take with me? Newbie here!
