Yesterday was really, really fun. As some of you know, it was my sister's birthday so I spent most of the day just relaxing and doing family things and it was really lovely. She opened her presents and then we took Kizzie for a walk and then we played Trivial Pursuit. I didn't win but I was definitely the best at the Art/Literature and the History questions :)

In the evening, my sister chose to watch some of the Harry Potter special features from the dvds and, can I just say, I think I'm falling in love with the actors all over again. They're so funny and adorable and they're just such a family and it's great.

Other things happened yesterday, too. I found out that I'm on Team Grifter over at

leverageland AND I took part in my first challenge (character stamping, which was fun to do - I'll find out which character people think I am sometime over the next week or so). I also got my email telling me which artists I'm with for

thebigbangjob and I'm VERY excited now :D

I kind of sort of gave up on reading Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I didn't not like it or anything, it just wasn't holding my interest and it was taking me longer to read than books usually do. I will go back and finish it at some point (because I always finish books) but for now I'm going to leave it because I want to read as much as possible before I start uni. I'm starting 'Brighton Rock' instead and then I'm going to read some Hemmingway.

Some of the bonus material on Pottermore is really awesome - I won't say anything more because I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't read it yet. Anyway, I got sorted into Hufflepuff and the people in my house are awesome and I'm sick of two people I know in RL talking about how Hufflepuff is the worst house because loyalty and friendship are very good traits in my eyes (and, also, Cedric.) And I know it's only a website but it's more the principle of the thing.

Anyway, it's Friday so I hope you'll all have a great weekend! *hugs*

I finally got my Pottermore welcome email yesterday! I got sorted into Hufflepuff which I wasn't really expecting/hoping for but I actually really like it because it means I'm loyal and trustworthy and care about my friends which, yeah, I'd like to think that's me :D Also, some really awesome wizards were in Hufflepuff AND my wand is vine which is unusual so yay, it's exciting! The bonus material is AWESOME, by the way. Anyway, I need your usernames now so I can friend you!! I'm ShadowMarauder178 (which I love because, hello, it's the Marauders)

Speaking of Harry Potter, I've been doing some prep work for the famous Harry Potter pack holiday today. I've mocked up a Hogwarts letter with the equipment attachment (tailored for a Brownie pack holiday so it includes cute things like teddy bears and a good night's sleep beforehand!) For some reason, though, I can't find a template of each of the house crests for them to colour in so I'm going to need to keep looking for that.

thebigbangjob is - I don't think I've ever checked my gmail account as often as I have yesterday/am today while I wait for the email! I'm really very excited :D

I actually managed to do a bit of writing for one of the prompt fics I still owe you guys yesterday. I promise they will get done soon!!! The rest of my plans for today are to:

Do more prep for the Harry Potter pack holiday
Do some more writing
Do some beta-reading

That doesn't seem like too much but, believe me, as soon as I sit down to write I can guarantee my Mum will pop up with jobs for me to do! Anyway, hope you all have an awesome day! What day is it, anyway? I keep losing track at the moment!

Went shopping for stuff we needed for my bedroom this morning - got a good deal on a carpet and a light-shade and some paint for a cabinet that we're snazzing up. Things are coming together now - all of the painting is done on the walls and stuff so we just need to put the carpet down, assemble the bed and 'dress' the room.

thebigbangjob today. I'm very excited :D I'm really pleased with how the fic is shaping up now. It's got longer (18.9k at the last count) and better, I think, so it's no longer as rough as it was. I think I'll finish the first round of pre-beta revisions today and then I'll be able to send a copy to my artist which will be helpful! I'm very glad I eventually decided to go in the direction I did rather than gen because the pairing dynamic has made it interesting to write.

I'm reading 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' at the moment, enjoying it so far. I'm only onto the second chapter, though, so I guess that might change. Somehow I don't think so, though.

I had an idea for some original fiction as I lay down to sleep last night and, just to be awkward, my notebook wasn't where I usually keep it on the bedside table. Anyway, I managed to remember the idea until this morning so I've written it out now and I'm quite pleased with it. Must remember to find my notebook, though.

Hey all! How are you doing?

I feel like I've been really busy over the last week or so and, because of that, I haven't had much time to be on here or to write. I think I might have to drop out of the Leverage big bang but I'm going to wait and see. I have fifteeen days to write at least 14,000 words and it would be doable if all I had to do was sit in front of my laptop and write but it's not. We're still decorating and packing for the holiday and then I'm going on holiday without my laptop and then there's like, five days maybe when I get back but that's a busy week too because I get my results and things. So basically, I'm going to try and keep writing it but if I don't get it finished in time I'm not going to stress. Oh, and I think I'm making in gen instead of Nate/Eliot because I think it'll work better with my idea. I think.

I signed up for spnslashbigbang and the spn_reversebang - that sounds bad after saying I'm struggling with the Leverage one but the deadlines etc are much later so I'm thinking ahead with those. I already have an idea for the big bang, obviously I don't for the reversebang, so hopefully that'll turn out well. Who else is taking part in either of them? Speaking of, thebigbangjob still needs more Leverage artists!

I'm going to get organised for this holiday - print out all the prompts and plot outlines and stuff to take with me so I can at least try and get something written. So yeah, wish me luck with that :D

I still haven't heard back from the summer school people about this library book so I'm going to give them until after lunch and then call them if I don't hear from them by them. I've been thinking though and I don't think they can realistically fail me for this. Surely they must know that I wouldn't be so keen to check if they've found the book and stuff if I wasn't telling the truth. I just really want to know for certain because it's nagging at me.

As I mentioned briefly (loudly) yesterday, I'm now a registered Pottermore beta-tester and member. My username is pretty cool - ShadowMarauder178 - because I love the Marauders :D Anyway, I'm very excited and I'm looking forward to getting my welcome to Hogwarts letter (welcome to pottermore email.) So, who else among you is no longer a muggle? ;)
