theron09: (leverage team)

Note: I’m using examples from throughout the seasons here, including recent episodes so watch out for spoilers if you aren’t up to date. There’s quite a lot of references to The Lonely Heart’s Job which makes up for the fact I didn’t do a reaction post for that, I hope. Okay, onto the meta:

I watched the episode in between editing my essay this morning (I still haven't finished but I'm waiting on some copies of academic essays so can't really do much more right at this moment). The reactions I've seen on my flist have been mixed but I have to say that I really liked this episode. Obviously, though, people are entitled to their own opinions (there are so many different ways to percieve this show and that's what I love about it) and I'd be happy to discuss things with you in the comments.

There are spoilers beneath the cut but can I just say (and I don't think this counts as a spoiler) how perfect Chris Kane's haircut is! He looked so, so good in this episode and it was actually quite wonderfully distracting. Anyway, onto other things such as plot :) I should warn you all, this got long and I actually think *gasps* it's gone from being an episode reaction to being meta which is a first for me. Anyway, see what you guys think :)

Cut because it's long and spoilery )

I don't THINK there was anything else I wanted to say but no doubt I've forgotten something! Anyway, what did you guys thing of the episode? What do you think about my thoughts/ideas?

Today is the end of two different eras for me and it's going to be very emotional and I have a feeling I'm going to cry lots so I'm going to need my waterproof mascara!

First of all, I'm going into my old school (and that's the first time I've referred to it as that) for a goodbye lunch. The teachers are ordering in pizza and everyone is saying goodbye to everyone else and we're getting our leavers hoodies and yearbooks. It's so weird to think that I probably won't see some of these people ever again - like the people that I like, have talked to in lessons etc but haven't necessarily hung out with at weekends and things, like the teachers that have supported me and been around since I was eleven, the friends that are moving away to go to uni elsewhere. It feels more real now. Like, at the leaver's ball and everything else I knew it was ending but now that I've been to the summer school and I know that, apart from results day, this is the last time I'm at that school as one of it's students.

I'm kind of worried, too. I feel like I'm one of the only ones from my friendship group who are moving on (K and D are most likely resitting and we're not sure whether R will be leaving or not either) and I'm just really worried that we'll end up losing contact. I mean, look how easy it was for me and K to end up going over a month without speaking to eachother when we were both busy with other things. I don't want that again.

And then it's on to the end of another era. Harry Potter. I'm so excited about it because I have a feeling that the movie is going to be great but I also kind of wish I wasn't going yet because, once I've seen it, that's (as far as we know) the end of anything new from the franchise and that's so freaking sad. It sounds silly and cheesy but I (and a lot of you, I know) have grown up with these books, these movies and it's going to be hard to let it go. Plus, you know, all the deaths and stuff are going to make me sob.

OMG, I just realised. It's like the end of my school and the end of Hogwarts on the same day and it's kind of poetic and I just know the two things are going to tag team me and make me over emotional!!!

Anyway, expect much squeeing and reflecting from me later (and possibly a few tears!)

If you're seeing Harry Potter today, have fun! If not, I hope you enjoy whatever you are doing. *hugs you all*

  • Went to an antiques fair this morning with my Mum and Grandma. It really was very awesome and I got two misers purses to go with my purse collection for just £25. There was a lot of other awesome things there that I'd have liked to buy but I was sensible and stuck with just those two things.

  • I watched the first two episodes of The Mentalist last night. I LOVE IT. I know I'm really late to the party and all that so feel free to roll your eyes at me. Anyway, I really liked Simon Baker as an actor and Patrick Jane as a character - layers, people, there were layers! I thought the way that the storyline was introduced was clever and I love the mind games and observation skills that Jane displays. Anyway, I'm going to watch another episode after lunch and then get back to doing some analysis of texts to prepare for next week's seminars. (Who else is a The Mentalist fan?)

  • Did I mention that I finished Atonement? Yeah, I acted like a proper student and read it on the bus :) I really liked it, want to see the film now.

  • I'm really looking forward to/getting tissues ready for/wondering about the last Harry Potter movie now. Apparently there's a surprise death (if you know, don't spoil me please) and my sister and I have been hypothesising about who it will be (we're thinking Neville or Luna but we don't know for certain.) Anyway, I can't wait to see the film but I just know that it's going to be so sad coming out of the cinema knowing that that was the last one.

  • Time for me to go and watch more The Mentalist now :D

theron09: (impala sam and dean)

So, as all of you know I couldn't watch it until this morning. I hadn't read any spoilers or looked at the previews so I had NO idea what to expect from these two episodes.

I'm going to attempt to be coherent in my reaction but I'm still kind of processing it all so some of what comes out may not make total sense.

Also, I'm wearing my Supernatural t-shirt in honour of the occassion. And yeah, there's spoilers under the cut. And also a mention of a casting spoiler for S7 towards the end.

Reactions )

Erm, long reaction post. But yeah, what do you guys think?

theron09: (salt and burn)

Okay, so I think this episode just goes to show how amazing Supernatural still is. After 'The French Mistake' which was hilarious and funny and awesome in it's own way, this episode was so, so different and yet still awesome and just so Supernatural. Obviously, I liked it.

I hadn't looked at the preview or any spoilers beforehand (not sure how I managed it!) so I had no clue what to expect from this episode and I think that just totally made it even better.

Spoilery thinky thoughts )

So yeah, loved the episode. I haven't watched the promo yet...I'm going to leave it for a few days so that hellatus gets broken up a little bit. So yeah, what did you guys think of the ep?

I'm going to go and get my fic ready to post now - first time making a fic masterpost so wish me luck!

theron09: (my head hurts)

Hey guys :)

Well, I've got another day of revising ahead of me but I don't even mind because it'll all be over for a while by lunch time tomorrow! I'm actually still feeling quite confident about this exam which is strange because I'm usually feeling nervous by this point. I don't know, I just feel like this exam is much easier than the one I did last week because we have more time to write the essays and the extracts we get are fiction rather than non-fiction. Anyway, I'll let you know how it went tomorrow!

Remember how I got my Mum into watching Leverage? Well, now I've got my little sister hooked too. On Friday night it was my turn to choose something to watch so I chose Leverage and M (my sister) complained about it and then sat watching it in silence, kind of refused to admit that she liked it but then yesterday, when it was her turn, she chose to watch Leverage, too. So yeah, score one to me!

Also, up until now I've been shippling Eliot/Hardison all of the way and they're still my Leverage OTP but yesterday, for the first time, I really saw Nate/Eliot which is weird because I've watched all the episodes before. But yeah, the way Eliot's concerned for Nate when he's drunk, the way Nate grabs Eliot arm in The Wedding Job. Guys, I have a new ship :D So, anyone have any Nate/Eliot recs? And Nate/Eliot/Hardison recs?

I know I have a few Nate/Eliot shippers on here so when was the first moment that you really saw it? Which moments stand out as Nate/Eliot moments for you?

I have a feeling I'll be writing feverishly tomorrow night :D

Speaking of writing, I had a very interesting discussion with [livejournal.com profile] trollmela . I was trying to work out a timeline and background for a casefic that I'm planning and we got onto the topic of Sam leaving for Stanford. Anyway, lots of different things came up and it made me curious about what other people think. So, do you guys think it was selfish of Sam to leave for Stanford?

If you ship Sam/Dean - did they already have feelings for one another when Sam left? If so, why did Sam still leave? Was it so that Dean wouldn't have to choose between Sam and John? Did he tell Dean how he felt before he went or did he keep it a secet? And why were Sam's best memories in Heaven without Dean and John? How would that fit into the idea that he's always loved Dean?

Yeah, so I'm just wondering what other people think about it.
